What blessings did you enjoy this morning? I don’t mean the obvious, earth-shaking, monumental kind. I mean the ones we often overlook because they are so common that we take them for granted. What blessings did God give you this morning? Did you wake with sight? Did God allow you to see the faces of your beloved family? Were you able to read the Bible, see well enough to prepare to come to church, view the mountains as you drove here? Did you awaken to love? Were there people in your family who expressed their love for you this morning? Were you inclined to express the same back? Did you awaken to peaceful sounds or the racket of warfare? Did you enjoy the liberty of coming to church without fear of arrest? These may not be blessings we recognize every day, but they are blessings we enjoy every day. There is an old saying: “Take time to stop and smell the roses.” Paul said it this way: In everything give thanks” – even the little things. They are wonderful blessings.
