Foe many of us, that statement couldn’t have come too quickly. 2017 has been a tough year. Some of us have lost jobs. Some have had to move against their will. Some among us have lost loved ones. Some have lost friends. Some have endured physical pain and suffering. Fo some, 2017 was not the best year they have ever had spiritually and their walk with god has suffered.
A new year offers a change to start over with hopes that the coming year will be better than the one that just ended. May I make a couple of observations?
First, the coming year will hold its share of challenges. They may be extensions of the ones you are already facing, or they may be different. A new year is a change to start fresh, but that doesn’t mean it will be a cake walk. It will be what we make of it. by the grace of God.
Second, determine now to make 2018 the best year you’ve ever had spiritually. It’s been my experience that when my walk with God is on target, the challenges are easier to handle. The challenges don’t change, I’m just not facing them alone.
The new year can be happy and blessed…or it may be a disaster. How it turns out won’t be determined by your circumstances. Rather, it will depend on how you face those circumstance. Will you attack the year alone, or will you walk into it with God at your side?
