This is a little parable that has been circulating for some time.
There were four friends who all attended the same local church – Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done at the church and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. When it comes to ministry in a local church, we are often caught in this little merry-go-round. The job doesn’t get done because somebody else will do it. Let’s be sure that important tasks don’t fall between the cracks because nobody gets around to doing what God has called us to do.
