Follow the leader is an imitation game. The “leader” walks a certain way, does a certain thing, says certain words, charts a certain course and everyone in line behind him is supposed to imitate his actions. If he jumps, they jump. If he does a somersault, they do somersaults. If he recites the Pledge of Allegiance, they recite the Pledge, too. The Apostle Paul used the same idea with the churches. To the believers in Corinth (I Cor.4:16 and 11:1), Philippi (Phil. 3:17 and 4:9) and Thessalonica (II Thess. 3:7), as well as those in the Galatian churches (our passage for this morning, Gal. 4:12) Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” Of course, to do that, you have to walk in a manner worthy of imitation. If God puts a young believer in your life, will you be able to say, “Follow me”?
