To Train Our Children
Over the past weeks, we pastors have been discussing ministry that effectively assists parents in the important and challenging task of rearing their children “in the training and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). God has given parents that task (Deut. 6:4-9), but he has also given the local church as a resource to help parents accomplish that task. In addition, the church has a vested interest in the outcome (II Tim. 2:2). Every church is just one generation away from extinction. If we don’t raise up leaders for the church, history teaches us it will die. We are going to spend the next several months working with you to craft a ministry plan that will meet the needs of your kids. We want your feedback. We want your buy-in. We want to reach out to your kids and help them grow as believers. If we develop a plan that doesn’t work for us in our church, it’s of no value. Recent history here teaches us that, as well. So stay tuned, get involved and let’s build a ministry together that gives our kids the best chance to become adults who love and serve the Lord Jesus.
